We're pretty proud of the Purina ONE Shelter Pet Program. It began back in 2008, and since then, more than 2 million pounds of Purina ONE pet food have been donated to more than 200,000 homeless pets. And it doesn't stop there. With your support, plus the support of our 14 shelter partners, the program is still growing. And still making a difference.

We strive to see the day when all homeless pets get the high-quality nutrition they need to look and feel their best while they wait, and hope, for their forever home. It's a tough feat, but we hope to get there.

The truth of the matter is, each year up to 8 million dogs and cats end up in a shelter. And the competition for a home is fierce. Adopters may overlook a dog or cat that does not seem, by appearance, to be healthy or happy. So bright eyes, a shiny coat and spirited energy all become things that can make a big difference to a shelter pet.

We know that shelters must stretch their limited funds day in and day out. That's where we come in. We want to help by providing shelter pets with the excellent nutrition they deserve. It all adds up to paying it forward for pets in need and turning their hope for a forever home into a reality. And that's definitely something worth smiling about!
