Adult Cat Feeding Instructions
Purina ONE® SMARTBLEND® Chicken & Rice
Formula dry food is appropriate to be fed alone or in combination
with any of our Purina ONE® canned cat recipes. Guidelines for
recommended daily feeding amounts for dry only or dry + canned food
are provided in the charts to the right.
These amounts are averages and your cat's needs may
differ. So feeding should be adjusted as necessary to maintain an
ideal body condition. Food intake required to maintain ideal body
condition will vary, depending on age, activity and environment.
Monitor your cat's weight and adjust food amount accordingly.
Remember, cats enjoy eating small meals throughout
the day. So fill your cat's bowl with the recommended measured
amount of dry food every morning and allow her to eat at will all
day rather than as a single feeding at mealtime. For the canned
food, it is better to offer it at a specific time and change it
frequently to maintain freshness and moisture.
Kitten Feeding Instructions
Kittens generally nibble solid foods at 3 - 4 weeks
of age. Keep moistened Purina ONE available to these kittens at all
times. After weaning, at 6 - 8 weeks of age, kittens will normally
eat dry or moistened food at will. If water is added, use no more
than one part warm (not hot) liquid to three parts Purina ONE,
changing frequently to ensure freshness. Please refer to the
Purina ONE® SMARTBLEND® Healthy Kitten Product page for
combined dry + canned food feeding instructions.
Making the Switch to Purina ONE?
Although you'll be anxious to see the difference
Purina ONE can make in your cat, please allow 7 - 10 days to ease
the transition from your cat's current food. Each day, simply feed
a little less of the previous food and a little more Purina ONE
until you're feeding Purina ONE exclusively. This gradual
transition will help avoid dietary upsets.
No Supplements Necessary
Purina ONE provides 100% complete and balanced nutrition for
maintenance of adult cats. There is no need to add vitamins,
