Every pet has a unique story, which means that every pet owner has one too. And because pets can make such a positive, often profound difference in our lives, we believe those stories should be heard. That’s why we’ve teamed up with GOOD for an ongoing series of Pet Diaries that give people a chance to share what they’ve learned from a pet in their own words.
Here’s a sampling of the entertaining and inspiring stories we’ve heard so far:
• For screenwriter Mike Metz, a Boston Terrier proved to be a shrewd matchmaker that helped him find a lifelong human companion.
• Dog trainer Omar Von Muller says working with Uggie, the Jack Russell terrier who co-starred in Oscar-winning film The Artist, has taught him the meaning of gratitude.
• Actor John Grady shares his inspiring experience using a therapy dog to connect with his fellow New Yorkers in the wake of the historic 9/11 attacks.
• Comedian Anna Lawson explains how a stray cat named Fernando Greyskull helped her to become a better neighbor in her L.A. apartment complex.
New Pet Diaries articles will be added throughout the year, illuminating the many ways in which pet ownership can change the way we see the world — and our place in it. To see these and other stories that celebrate how pets brighten lives and strengthen our communities, visit the GOOD Pets Hub.
