Rated 5 out of 5 by Can't get enough My puppy was 10 weeks old when I rescued him. He was a skinny little thing so I wanted the best quality food for him no matter the price. I purchased a Wellness brand. I had to hand feed him and play games with the food to get him to eat it. His stool was always soft. Then I switched to Earthbound. Another expensive quality food that promised the world. He liked it a little better but still having a soft stool. My vet tech. recommended Purina One. She told me the fancy foods had a lot of fiber and berries in them and that everyone there fed there dogs Purina One.So I could not believe how much my puppy loves it. He is 5 months old and was still on the thin side. It's been a week and he already is showing signs of weight gain and spunk in his step. Now when it's feeding time he attacks the bowl like the dogs in the commercials. He abousolutley loves it.The price is reasonable and I'm happy with the ingredients. August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality puppy food We have been feeding our older Border Collie Purina One for over a year and love the results. Just became the proud parents of two new BC puppies and decided that the best way to start them out is with Purina One Puppy Food. They love the taste and we love the nutrition they are getting. Border Collies are high energy dogs and need lots of nutritional value to keep up with what their bodies use daily. Their skin and coats are shiny and healthy and we get compliments everywhere we go on how great they look. Our vet even complimented their growth, eyes, and coats, being vibrant and healthy. Love your products and will continue to keep them Purina One dogs throughout their lives. March 4, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Want the best for my Dogs corn is not good for dogs,or cats. starch turns to sugar. will Purina make a food without these kinds of products. And will they ever give out any worth while coupons for a company that has been around for so many years. We are the owners of four AKC Siberian Huskies. October 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very High Quality food my pup loves! I've always been aware that puppies needed good food and just kindof assumed that all puppy foods were nutritiously similar. I thought to myself they should all be about the same right? Boy was i wrong. While strolling through my nearest Petco I saw the Purina Healthy Puppy Formula and it really intrigued me reading what benefits it has for your dog as well as the amount of protein and DHA it has! Having a growing pitbull i knew i was going to need a more high quality food at an affordable price and i was amazed. I almost challenged Purina with this one cause i read the bag and it said you get a full refund if no results show and I am happy to say that I will be sticking with Purina. His eyes are brighter, coat shinier, and overall a more solid dog not only physically, but mentally also! March 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by St Bernard Puppy Loves It I received a sick Saint Bernard puppy when he was 10 weeks old, he is now 12 weeks old. He was being fed nothing but junk food. Anemia, pancreatits, needs to be checked for a liver shunt. Vet bills, behavior, and his price are all that of a puppy mill. He's definitely a trooper for hanging in there. He tears this food up. Definitely need bigger bags, like 50-100 pound bags for this big guy. Petco sells 31.1 lb bags at $34.01 if repeat delivery. He loves it though. Just so I can eat without a begger, I put his food bowl down next to where I am eating. Works perfect because he's distracted. March 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stella is a Purina One Healthy Puppy We adopted our catahoula leopard dog mix, Stella, from the APA in St. Louis. The shelter fed her Purina One Healthy Puppy Formula and sent us home with coupons and samples. We continued to feed her Healthy Puppy at home and she is indeed one healthy puppy! Full of energy, shiny coat, no digestive issues at all. Now that she is a year old, we are switching her over to the adult Chicken and Rice food. Again, she has had no digestive issues with the switch. Stella will be a Purina One dog for life. July 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The one my puppy loves! My puppy Trooper gobbles up his food in seconds and licks the bowl after he is finished. I feel confident giving my baby puppy the proper nutrition. I will continue to provide him with Purina products throughout his life. July 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent product for the price We started 7 week old Alexis, our golden retriever puppy, on this the day we brought her home. She spun circles to eat, as she was the runt of a litter of 9. She is now two, and healthy and beautiful. We still use Purina One, now for large breed adults. June 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The only pet food I trust for our fur babies The puppy formula I wish was a bit smaller in size since my babies are tiny. But they love this food. I have 6 Japanese Chin pups and want to keep them all healthy. This food is healthy and fills them up without over eating. June 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Finally a food that works!! We have a 1 yr old male German Shepherd who has the most sensitive tummy. We started him out on the big expensive brands that the pet stores promote....he has been on blue, merrick, taste of wild, and wellness and every single one we would have the same issue of super soft stool and many stools a day and constant accidents of poo and not puppy accidents runny stool accidents and he wasn't gaining weight he was eating a lot but skinny. We were worried and took him to our vet and he told us to try purina one as that's what our local base uses for their work shepherds. Well he is going on month two and he is doing great he's eating well and has gained weight hes filled out looks so much healthier and he is pooing only twice a day firm normal stools.I definitely recommend this food to people and when I get the snide remarks on how it's not a good food well in my opinion a good food is one that your dog likes, is healthy, and the dog tolerates. And after trying so many different brands I am sticking with purina one. February 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by perfect for my special needs dog Roxie is a shelter dog with a lot of health problems one of them being an inability to gain weight. Regular dry dog food she can eat on all day and still kept losing weight. i got a sample of the smart blend puppy and she loved it, especially the chewy pieces. it has enough calories and dense enough nutrients in it that she can maintain a healthy weight and it isn't so expensive as to be a problem affording it. She has gone from a scraggly puppy weened too early with patchy fur and constant vomiting and diarrhea to a sleek, happy, glossy furred little dog who is never too tired to play. I think this is a better product than a lot of the more expensive brands and tastes good so she actually eats it. I wasted a lot of money trying different fancy brands that she wouldn't eat or that made her sick. she's been eating this for a little over 3 years now and I have no plans on changing. July 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by love it need bigger bah I foster for a rescue and i take in pregnant dogs from a local shelter. I had been using Puppy Chow for the pups but was aggravated about loose stools. Another foster recommended this dog food. I love it and the puppies love it. Their stools are much firmer now than it was on Puppy Chow. The downside is it only comes in a 16.5 lb bag. That last 2 days at my house. I curently have 8 8-weeks-old and 3 5 months old and i go through this size bag in 2.5 days. I wish it came in a 30 or 50 lb at a reasonable price. Otherwise i love it. Rated 5 out of 5 by The One* We got our Lab Mix at 12 weeks old. We went through 3 types of different puppy dry food and each one she would not eat or would only nibble for a little and never finish. Our 4th attempt the vet recommended Purina One and from day 1 she was hooked. It didn't have a giant variety of taste and she was picky and would only eat the brown ones so this recipe worked out perfect. She is 1yr old now and has been eating the same recipe since then without problem. The food gives her enough nutrients and she doesn't seem sick or sluggish from it at all. It's a bit pricier especially if you have a big dog but it's the perfect fit if your pup is picky. Highly Recommend! Will be switching over to the adult version soon... September 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy puppy I adopted a 8 week old pitbull puppy, Dutchess. She is a very picky eater, and has a sensitive stomach. I went through 3 different dog foods. I finally tried purina one healthy puppy. She no longer has digestive issues or upset tummy, she looks healthier and happier. I'm never switching her food. April 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the different Shapes When we got Tia she was a timid little puppy. We had gotten some food from the original owners. It was little hard balls of food which she would not eat much at any one time. My wife Went food shopping and decided to try something else. She found the purina food and thought she would give that a try. we mixed one scoop with what was in her bowl and she ate the whole thing. The birds ended up getting the rest of that hard food and Tia has been a Purina dog since. January 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Winner Every Time! I have a four year old boxer and an 11 month old miniature pinscher. My boxer is on the skinny side so during the summer I keep her on puppy food. It is so nice to have them both on the same food and see her put on healthy weight while our miniature pinscher stays healthy as well. Their coats are shiny, teeth are clean, and they have a great energy level to keep up with our three boys. Will never try another food again! July 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Puppies Favorite. We had our Miniature Australian Shepherd on Wellness dog food, but found that we had to switch when 65.00 dollars a bag was just too much to be spending! We didn't want to skimp on our puppies health, so we did some looking around. He loves this food and it's much easier on our wallets! Will be switching our cats over to this, too! October 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Snooki loves it !!! We got our Yorkie poo at age 6 weeks , the breeder gave us can dog food but when we got her home she would not eat it . Rated 5 out of 5 by Siberian Husky Puppy Huskies are well known for eating only what their body tells them they need, not what amount the humans think they should consume. However, my 14 week AKC Siberian Husky will eat this until she collapses so I have to meter the servings properly. Have done Blue Buffalo, Diamond Natural and Merrick, they're good and she'll eat them the way a Husky normally eats, so this surprised me. She loses her mind over this stuff. March 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by my puppy has a new lease on life My puppy was under nourished whenever we got her plus she never had any energy. Since we've started using Purina one smart blend she is like a whole new puppy , vibrant, healthy, happy, and playful. I recommend this product for anyone with a young family pet. March 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Her favorite! My puppy is one of those dogs that is just a tad finicky but will eat her whole bowl of food in one sitting. I can tell when she doesn't love a certain brand - we've tried ALL the different ones over the course of the year - she will sniff it and leave it until she's very hungry. But with Purina One Smartblend Puppy food, she digs right in and pretty much inhales the whole bowl. October 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pups love it and I feel they are getting the best! I have compared many brands and although this can be a little more than other brands, the ingredients speak for themselves. When you compare other brands with the same ingredients, this is your best price for quality! My pups absolutely love it and I feel great knowing they are getting good food. June 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by dogs love it I got a now 4 month old pit bull puppy and a 6yr old bull boxer. With the bull boxer we were having problems getting him to eat. We put izzy the pit on the puppy food and he started eating it right away. He loves it. So does izzy. Just wish iron was in it. June 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality product! Once I got my puppy I swapped him over to this product and he loves it! He looks great and it gives me peace of mind that he is eating a quality product. My pets are my kids and they deserve only the best! July 26, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rescued puppy. He loves this food! I rescued a puppy from a shelter down south. This was the first food that I purchased for him and he loved it right away! May 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Healthy Puppy... FINALLY! When we bought Cody, he had Puppy Strangles. This is a dangerous puppy illness, and he got off to a rocky start. He would pick at his food and as a result - he was underweight and not growing like he should. We found a taste test WINNER with Healthy Puppy Purina One. Cody cleans his plate now, and is back up to a weight that is healthy for him. THANKS PURINA!!! March 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My puppy loves this food My maltese/doxie cross puppy seemed to be a very picky eater. I decided to try the puppy formula out and she loves it. I wish it was a little bit cheaper, however she is very healthy and happy so that's all that matters. July 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My new puppy and several older dogs love it. After getting a new puppy, our older dogs (4 and 16) absolutly love this stuff. The older dogs stopped eating their own food, now they all eat this. April 26, 2013

Recommended daily feeding amounts for puppies with normal activity using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup which contains approximately 96 g of Purina ONE.

    Puppy Feeding Instructions

Start puppies on moistened Purina ONE as early as they will nibble at solid foods, generally 3–4 weeks of age.  Allow your puppy to eat at will until fully weaned (6–8 weeks). After weaning, feed pups (to six months of age) all of the moistened or dry Purina ONE they will consume at intervals throughout the day. If water is added, use no more than one part warm (not hot) liquid to four parts Purina ONE, changing frequently to ensure freshness.  If fed dry, this formula may be kept before pups at all times. For best results, develop a regular feeding schedule, such as three small meals a day for younger puppies. Gradually reduce to one feeding in the morning and one in the evening as your puppy ages.  The routine should not vary.

    When Feeding for Reproduction

Purina ONE provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female's good body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.

The Importance of Ideal Body Condition

Nestlé Purina Research indicates that avoiding overfeeding of puppies may help their development. Maintaining ideal body condition is key to encouraging proper growth in all puppies, especially large breeds. The indicated amounts are only a guideline. If your puppy becomes overweight, a reduction of his daily food intake may be appropriate. You may wish to consult your veterinarian about a weight control program.

Making The Switch to Purina ONE

Although you’ll be anxious to see the difference Purina ONE can make in your puppy, please allow 7–10 days to ease the transition from your puppy’s current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Purina ONE until you’re feeding Purina ONE exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

    No Supplements Necessary

Purina ONE provides 100% complete and balanced nutrition for the growth of puppies and reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. There is no need to add vitamins, minerals or other supplements, unless specifically directed by a veterinarian.

Fresh Water, Proper Diet & Veterinary Care

Be sure to provide fresh water in a clean container for your puppy daily. Proper diet, exercise and veterinary care are the best ways to keep your puppy healthy. If your puppy hasn’t had a check-up in the past year, please make an appointment today.
