Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a food that works!! We have a 1 yr old male German Shepherd who has the most sensitive tummy. We started him out on the big expensive brands that the pet stores promote....he has been on blue, merrick, taste of wild, and wellness and every single one we would have the same issue of super soft stool and many stools a day and constant accidents of poo and not puppy accidents runny stool accidents and he wasn't gaining weight he was eating a lot but skinny. We were worried and took him to our vet and he told us to try purina one as that's what our local base uses for their work shepherds. Well he is going on month two and he is doing great he's eating well and has gained weight hes filled out looks so much healthier and he is pooing only twice a day firm normal stools.I definitely recommend this food to people and when I get the snide remarks on how it's not a good food well in my opinion a good food is one that your dog likes, is healthy, and the dog tolerates. And after trying so many different brands I am sticking with purina one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't get enough My puppy was 10 weeks old when I rescued him. He was a skinny little thing so I wanted the best quality food for him no matter the price. I purchased a Wellness brand. I had to hand feed him and play games with the food to get him to eat it. His stool was always soft. Then I switched to Earthbound. Another expensive quality food that promised the world. He liked it a little better but still having a soft stool. My vet tech. recommended Purina One. She told me the fancy foods had a lot of fiber and berries in them and that everyone there fed there dogs Purina One.So I could not believe how much my puppy loves it. He is 5 months old and was still on the thin side. It's been a week and he already is showing signs of weight gain and spunk in his step. Now when it's feeding time he attacks the bowl like the dogs in the commercials. He abousolutley loves it.The price is reasonable and I'm happy with the ingredients.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising Results for a Song We adopted our rescue pup when he was just 12 weeks old. He was a wisp of a thing, and not a very good eater. We wanted to give him the best food available, and purchased very expensive kibble. He wouldn't eat it. Then we purchased very expensive dehydrated food, which he seemed to like a little bit better, but not enough to eat it without being hand fed. He had very soft stool, lacked energy and started losing patches of fur. My vet recommended Purina One, which really surprised me considering it's more of a bargain brand. However, he told me his own dogs eat it and love it, and that it couldn't hurt to give it a try. Our picky puppy took to Purina One right away and one month later, is still going strong. He's still not the best eater, but I don't have to hand feed him as he will eat his food eventually, pushing the bowl across the floor in his eagerness. His energy level has really gone up, the patchy spots in his coat are filling in, and his stool is now solid enough to pick up and dispose of properly. I still wouldn't consider Purina One the most "healthy" of foods for dogs, but I'm ok enough with the ingredients to keep feeding it to our dog. Glad we switched!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great food my puppy loves! I adopted my puppy when she was about 4 months old and she'd been put on "all ages" grain-free food. She was ok eating that for a while, but then I had to start hand feeding her to get her to start/finish meals. On top of that, she wasn't getting the vitamins/Omega3/DHA that puppy-only food could give her.I first tried putting her back on Puppy Chow, as I'd been told she was on that before coming up to NY as a rescue. She Loved that, but it made her itchy.I figured I'd try Purina One as other reviewers said their dogs had skin problems (itching) and they went away after being on One. As promised, the itchiness went away and her coat got even softer & so shiny! She loves this food & I'm glad to have found a good quality, reasonably-priced food to give her that has also shown to work this well already!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for my special needs dog Roxie is a shelter dog with a lot of health problems one of them being an inability to gain weight. Regular dry dog food she can eat on all day and still kept losing weight. i got a sample of the smart blend puppy and she loved it, especially the chewy pieces. it has enough calories and dense enough nutrients in it that she can maintain a healthy weight and it isn't so expensive as to be a problem affording it. She has gone from a scraggly puppy weened too early with patchy fur and constant vomiting and diarrhea to a sleek, happy, glossy furred little dog who is never too tired to play. I think this is a better product than a lot of the more expensive brands and tastes good so she actually eats it. I wasted a lot of money trying different fancy brands that she wouldn't eat or that made her sick. she's been eating this for a little over 3 years now and I have no plans on changing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality food my puppy really enjoys and the ONLY one I would recommend! If I had to describe the puppy food in one word, I would say, Amazing! Definitely would recommend this puppy food to others. I often get asked by my vet and other people what do you feed your puppy? I tell them Purina One Smart Blend Healthy Puppy Formula. My husband also agrees that we are going to continue to keep our puppy on this food brand and we are truly inspired on how healthy our puppy became just by eating the food. Let me tell you our puppy story. I really wanted to adopt a new puppy into our family and I decided to rescue a very young maybe 6-7 weeks old female Belgian Malinois puppy. The puppy must of have came from a mill breeder. She was so lethargic, dirty, her nose was cut/scared up and had signs and symptoms of very poor nutrition and dehydration. She was so skinny, you could see all her ribs and skeletons. She had barely any energy to even moved. I was afraid to even adopt her, I did not want a sick puppy. My husband felt extremely sorry for her and wanted her to have better life, one she deserves. So we ended up adopting her.We needed to find her a good brand of food to help her put on her some weight and give her energy. She was so tiny, did not want to eat or play and was suffering from diarrhea. I went to look for a puppy formula that would her help and was overwhelmed by all the puppy and dog food brands out there. People kept telling me to by the more expensive quality brands of food. You do not want to feed her any corn meal, grains and by-products etc. My husband and I have always feed our other dogs Pedigree dog food. I read so many labels and brands and was just about buy a more expensive brand of puppy food, when I saw the Purina One Smart Blend Healthy Puppy Formula. I read the main ingredient was Chicken, had Omega 6, Antioxidants and the DHA found in mother's milk to help support vision and brain development. I was still a bit skeptical but decided to give it a try. I also went to the Purina site and read more about the dog food and saw the 28 Day Challenge. When we feed the food to the puppy she loved the taste and was enjoying the food immediately. Within a few weeks, she was gaining some weight, she stopped having diarrhea and stomach issues, her coat became soft and she had energy enough to want to play. I started to use the food for to her training lessons. Our vet was impressed on how our puppy came around and very pleased to see how healthy she was becoming. The vet would always me what our your feeding her? The difference is remarkable! For all the skeptics out there, I say give it a try! Take the challenge. You will see the true difference on what you feed your puppy really matters. I cannot thank the makers of Purina for making such are great food product and at a affordable price. I am so grateful our puppy - Mishka is very healthy now, full of energy and most of all - Happy! She loves her puppy food!I will support and continue to feed our puppy Purina One Smart Blend formulas. Thank You Purina!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very High Quality food my pup loves! I've always been aware that puppies needed good food and just kindof assumed that all puppy foods were nutritiously similar. I thought to myself they should all be about the same right? Boy was i wrong. While strolling through my nearest Petco I saw the Purina Healthy Puppy Formula and it really intrigued me reading what benefits it has for your dog as well as the amount of protein and DHA it has! Having a growing pitbull i knew i was going to need a more high quality food at an affordable price and i was amazed. I almost challenged Purina with this one cause i read the bag and it said you get a full refund if no results show and I am happy to say that I will be sticking with Purina. His eyes are brighter, coat shinier, and overall a more solid dog not only physically, but mentally also!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Puppy, New Food I got my Australian Shepherd, Piper, when she was 16 weeks old and for weeks before I debated on what to feed her. Our other dogs are on a sensitive diet and I didn't know what would be best for her. My boyfriend's mom sent me the coupon and the 28-day challenge, so I chose the Healthy Puppy formula because of the DHA for brain and vision development and the texture of the food. She is now 5 months old and growing and thriving. She absolutely loves the food and her health is amazing. Her coat has shined up and her weight is perfect. Everywhere we go she gets compliments and I make a point to tell people when they ask that she gets Purina One. I will continue to feed Purina One as she gets older and I look forward to many healthy years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Picky Dog Approved I have a 13 week old German Shepherd/ Newfoundland mix and he's very picky when it comes to dry food. I purchased another brand of food that he totally turned away...then I purchased the Purina One Puppy formula and he can't get enough! I'm so pleased to know he loves it and it's giving him the nutrition he needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality puppy food We have been feeding our older Border Collie Purina One for over a year and love the results. Just became the proud parents of two new BC puppies and decided that the best way to start them out is with Purina One Puppy Food. They love the taste and we love the nutrition they are getting. Border Collies are high energy dogs and need lots of nutritional value to keep up with what their bodies use daily. Their skin and coats are shiny and healthy and we get compliments everywhere we go on how great they look. Our vet even complimented their growth, eyes, and coats, being vibrant and healthy. Love your products and will continue to keep them Purina One dogs throughout their lives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stella is a Purina One Healthy Puppy We adopted our catahoula leopard dog mix, Stella, from the APA in St. Louis. The shelter fed her Purina One Healthy Puppy Formula and sent us home with coupons and samples. We continued to feed her Healthy Puppy at home and she is indeed one healthy puppy! Full of energy, shiny coat, no digestive issues at all. Now that she is a year old, we are switching her over to the adult Chicken and Rice food. Again, she has had no digestive issues with the switch. Stella will be a Purina One dog for life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from St Bernard Puppy Loves It I received a sick Saint Bernard puppy when he was 10 weeks old, he is now 12 weeks old. He was being fed nothing but junk food. Anemia, pancreatits, needs to be checked for a liver shunt. Vet bills, behavior, and his price are all that of a puppy mill. He's definitely a trooper for hanging in there. He tears this food up. Definitely need bigger bags, like 50-100 pound bags for this big guy. Petco sells 31.1 lb bags at $34.01 if repeat delivery. He loves it though. Just so I can eat without a begger, I put his food bowl down next to where I am eating. Works perfect because he's distracted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Healthy food my puppy loves! I got my dog from an animal rescue facility. She was three months old, and most of the foods I've read the ingredients. Purines one first ingredient "chicken". No corn by products. My puppy absolutely loves it. I want to feed my dog healthy food because she needs this because she is a puppy and still growing.

She is now 12 weeks old and is only a 1\3 of her other 4 sisters but is up and going like they are now. She has slowly started to gain weight and is no longer unhealthy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The One* We got our Lab Mix at 12 weeks old. We went through 3 types of different puppy dry food and each one she would not eat or would only nibble for a little and never finish. Our 4th attempt the vet recommended Purina One and from day 1 she was hooked. It didn't have a giant variety of taste and she was picky and would only eat the brown ones so this recipe worked out perfect. She is 1yr old now and has been eating the same recipe since then without problem. The food gives her enough nutrients and she doesn't seem sick or sluggish from it at all. It's a bit pricier especially if you have a big dog but it's the perfect fit if your pup is picky. Highly Recommend! Will be switching over to the adult version soon...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our Puppy Loves It! :) We have a 6 month old female Border Collie and have tried several Purina puppy foods. Our vet said Purina is fine, unless we just want to spend more on another high-end brand - but he feeds his own dogs Purina. We switched to Purina One after trying several other Purina puppy foods - she would eat those but would pick at them and didn't seem overly excited about them. Now, with Purina One, she can't seem to get enough. I know each puppy is different in their likes and dislikes, but we are so pleased with Purina One and especially now that we have found the one puppy food she's crazy about. We highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lucy Likes It! Lucy is now a 6-month old Black & Tan Jack Russell Terrier. She started with some very expensive food and she ate it ok, but was not excited about it. Switched to Purina One and she is more eager for her meals. Although, she wants the food her 1 year old brother eats! Her coat is healthy and she has tons of energy. We're sticking with Purina One!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Research behind the product It's nice to go to a web site and actually read about the research that goes behind the dog food and why these ingredients were chosen. I feel Purina really cares about the food they make for pets and their owners. Just go to their online sites and look. They explain how they look at nutrition and why they choose the ingredients that go into their pet food. The ingredients they pick compliment one another so pets get all the nutrients they need to stay healthy. And they have such a wide range of products, even a picky owner can find something good for their pets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only pet food I trust for our fur babies The puppy formula I wish was a bit smaller in size since my babies are tiny. But they love this food. I have 6 Japanese Chin pups and want to keep them all healthy. This food is healthy and fills them up without over eating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Winner Every Time! I have a four year old boxer and an 11 month old miniature pinscher. My boxer is on the skinny side so during the summer I keep her on puppy food. It is so nice to have them both on the same food and see her put on healthy weight while our miniature pinscher stays healthy as well. Their coats are shiny, teeth are clean, and they have a great energy level to keep up with our three boys. Will never try another food again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good source of healthy ingredients We rescued our puppy when he was four months old and continued to feed him the food he came with, but he developed a food rash all over his tender belly. Thank you for providing a quality food for him and other puppies!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent product for the price We started 7 week old Alexis, our golden retriever puppy, on this the day we brought her home. She spun circles to eat, as she was the runt of a litter of 9. She is now two, and healthy and beautiful. We still use Purina One, now for large breed adults.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Siberian Husky Puppy Huskies are well known for eating only what their body tells them they need, not what amount the humans think they should consume. However, my 14 week AKC Siberian Husky will eat this until she collapses so I have to meter the servings properly. Have done Blue Buffalo, Diamond Natural and Merrick, they're good and she'll eat them the way a Husky normally eats, so this surprised me. She loses her mind over this stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two Puppies Growing Strong! We have one dog, Rooster the Red Bone, I fed the Heslthy Puppy blend to last year. He is big, strong, and smart! That's why I chose to feed our newest pup, Willow the Walker Hound, the same. She is almost 4 months old and not only does she devour her food (I soak it warm water for easier digestion because she eats so fast) and she's growing just a strong and fast as Rooster did! Our hounds are hunters so we want them to be strong and healthy when they are out in the woods!
