Rated 5 out of 5 by Vibrant maturity I have a 12 year old chihuahua that I switched from Purina Dog Chow to Purina One Vibrant Maturity. She would have bouts of back pain occasionally. She has not had any issues with her back since the switch. I'm sold. March 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Both of out old timers love this food We have a 15-year-old Shiba Inu mix and a 12-year-old Chow mix. The 15-year-old had slowed down a bit with arthritis but after a few months of Vibrant Maturity he is fairly running around like a pup. Still alert and ready for fun.The 12-year-old is not feeling her age and still plays and runs like a much younger pup. They both clamor for their Vibrant Maturity and there isn't a bite left when they are done eating. For the curious the Shiba Inu is mixed with Swiss Shephard and is 30 pounds, and the Chow is 1/4 Chihuahua and 60 pounds. Rated 5 out of 5 by Healthy Fur Happy Dog My dog Stumpy has had terrible shedding almost his whole life at 11 years old we switched to purinas vibrant 7+ and it helped immensely. I used to think all dog food was the same but NO I was very WRONG this product is a miracle worker! March 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I'm not sure she chews she eats it so fast! I have absolutely seen a significant improvement in my 10 year old Borador (Border Collie/Lab), her spunk and spurts of energy last longer and are more frequent! She had a fairly sensitive tummy before this food and she's great all around, I'm very happy and have been persuasively suggesting to all my friends with senior age dogs! I will forever be using this brand for her and the many future dogs I will have! March 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by 15-year old Golden thrives! We started using vibrant maturity Purina One when our golden retriever, Molly, was about 8 years old. I heard a vet on a talk radio show say that this dog food has all the nutrients and supplements that older dogs need. I can honestly say that our 15-year old acts like a puppy after she gets warmed up in the morning! January 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our Blue Heeler Has Come Back To Life Again Our 12yr. old Blue Heeler "Maggie Mae" had lost all her energy. She had been in a accident at age 3 which crushed her pelvis and hip. After 2 surgeries , a metal plate and screws, she bounced back but at age 12 she had to have surgery for cancer. This time she just wasn't bouncing back to her old self. She just laid around with no energy. That's when I saw the commercial for the Purina challenge and decided to give it a try. I was a little skeptical that a food could offer such a change in your dog. Within 2 weeks of gradually switching her over we could see a major difference. At the end of the 28 days she is back to her normal self again. There's no looking back !She will continue this food and we would recommend it to anyone! Thank you Purina for saving our dog! Rated 5 out of 5 by Golden Retriever approved! I have a 7 year old Golden Retriever and decided to try the Purina One for Senior dogs. I had her try the other flavors of Purina One via FREE Sample and coupon I received. My dog seems to really love the flavor, I see a difference in her coat and eyes. She completed the Purina one 28 day challenge I went out and purchased more since she loved the food.I would highly recommend this product, the value is worth the price! May 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Old Man's favorite Our Menchi is 12 years old. About 6 years ago he had to start taking Epilepsy medication and the vet said that it would age him and therefore probably die younger than most dogs of his breed (lab/great dane mix). Great Danes live 6-8 years and labs 11-12 years so he is doing really well on the Purina One for Mature dogs we have been feeding him since he has been taking the meds.I wouldn't feed him anything else. Rated 5 out of 5 by My Senior Dog Loves It My 7 year old Boxer loves her food. We changed over to Purena 1 Vibrant Maturity shortly after we got her. She had joint pain and now can jump around with the best of them. She also enjoys when I moisten it and soften the pieces as she has only a few teeth left. She has no problem eating it this way and always looks forward to mealtime. We will feed her Purena 1 Vibrant Maturity for whatever time she has left as she was diagnosed with a brain tumor shortly after we got her. Only the best for her. July 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Food My Min American Eskimo who is a recuse has been a Purina One Dog for the 4 yrs I have had her and she just loves her VIBRANT MATURITY 7+ and has so much energy and a great coat Thanks Purina for great food. December 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great food for a Picky Boston My picky Boston loves this food, he wasnt one to eat dry food with out water in it. However he loves this food and will finish his bowl. it has done a great deal of help on his joints. The glucoseamine in it helps his joints and so much more easier than trying to get him to take a pill.... Great Job Purina June 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Happy Dog I switched our 9 year old dog to the Vibrant Maturity 7+ and she is so excited to eat this food. She was bored with the grain free food I had been giving her and now there is no hesitation to eat. Her energy level is up and she looks great. We thought she may be allergic to chicken but has had no problems with this food. Would highly recommend. April 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Have To Have It! Our 13 year old Collie mix has arthritis so we switched him to Purina One Maturity 7+ from another adult dog (more expensive) brand and he immediately improved - he could stand up more quickly and walked without limping. When we ran out, our local store was out of stock, so not thinking it would make that much difference, I purchased Purina One Adult. He started to limp again, so I found a source for Maturity 7+ online. Now he's back to his limber self. I'm so relieved! April 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Purina One is da bomb! My dog was diagnosed w/ CHF and the vet said to put him on a senior dog food. He was already eating Little Bites since he came off Puppy Chow. Well, as with many things, I researched before I chose a food when the vet said to just move him up to Purina Senior. I should have listened because I went to the local pet supply and got talked into getting him something from there that I had never heard of. I'm sure it is a fine dog food, but my dog didn't like it. So I went ahead and got the Purina One Vibrant Maturity and started incorporating that into the other to change him over. The stinker started picking out the other food and dropping it on the floor to get to the Purina One food so he could eat it first and most times left the other on the floor. I'm sure that was his way of protesting Ha! He loves the Purina One and doesn't dally like he was w/ the other one. He doesn't scarf it down, that has never been his MO. But he seems to enjoy now. Thank you for this product. I'm sold!! June 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by new pet We recently adopted a senior dog and wanted to make sure we fed her the right food. Our vet recommended several different foods. After we looked at her suggestions we found that this was the best fit for out new family addition. It is a great value for the product March 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Instant change in activity I have a twelve year old, lady boxer. Since having her, she never played with toys or really ever played in general. After a week of being on this food, she started playing tug of war with her poodle brother, jumps around and has the zoomies in the back yard, and bounces around the nips my fingers when I comes home from work. It's like I have a new, happier dog and I couldn't be any more grateful! Thank you! March 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Made a big difference My Australian Shepherd, Chance, is 9 years old. The last year or so he has developed arthritis and slowed down considerably. His weight was also a little more than I would like. This past summer I noticed that his skin was flaking and his coat had become dull. I knew something had to be done. I did some research online and decided that Purina One Vibrant Maturity would be a good choice after reading the information provided and customer reviews. I am pleased to say that he has improved on all counts. He is more active and eager to play. I do see some improvement in his coat and skin though he does have a way to go yet. And he must like it because he cleans it up everyday. Something he didn't always do before. I am pleased with the results and feel he will continue to improve. I would definitely recommend it to others who have older dogs who have lost their pep. I feel like I have my happy buddy back again. November 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Huge difference in Mobility We have two "puppies" who are over the age of 10. One is a 90 lb. Chocolate Lab, the other a medium sized Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Our lab especially was slowing down and having trouble moving easily like he did when he was younger. We were feeding the Purina One 7+ Maturity blend for almost a year, when we decided to switch to a different brand that was supposed to be "better". Within only a week, we noticed that both dogs were having difficulty getting up and down, walking and just in general, seemed as if they were having pain in their joints. We switched them back to the 7+ Maturity blend, and within only 2 DAYS, they are back to their happy go lucky selves ~ running around the yard and playing much better! It is amazing the difference that this food makes for them. We were skeptical as to whether or not this blend really made that much difference, but after seeing this dramatic change, we are completely convinced that this is an awesome food for our puppies. Thanks so much for helping our babies keep their mobility, sharpness of mind, and happy, wagging tails! November 10, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by My dog wants food, not kitchen sponges. I am deeply disappointed in the changes that were made to this dog food. My Yorkie-Poodle mix is currently 16 years old and has been eating this food for years. A couple years ago (not sure exactly when), there was a change made to the content of the food -- there are these new pieces along with the regular triangle pieces -- I think they are supposed to be "meat" but have the consistency of a kitchen sponge when they get moisture in them. She won't touch them. We now have to pick out all of these pieces before she will touch the food -- which has become even more annoying due to the fact that it seems every single bag we open has more and more of them in it. Half the bag gets thrown away -- such a waste of money. If she were younger, we would switch her food but, due to her age, we have chosen to continue feeding her the same diet (until we are forced to switch due to vet advice, etc). Bring back the old version!!!!! August 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Improved Activity My big girl Edna (a yellow lab) is 11 years old. I was skeptical at first but the advertising prompted me to give Purina One a try. She loves the food! When it was time to buy more-I decided to try mixing the Healthy Weight with The Vibrant Maturity. The results have been outstanding! She has lost weight and she is more active. She actually has begun to play again. She will fetch and she plays with my other two dogs again. Thanks Purina One-This product really does work! February 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Keeps my Senior from inhaling his food! I got Chevy (Pitbull/Dachshund) when he was 7 years old from the local shelter. He was very underweight, and even though he is a healthy weight now, and also 14, he still feels the need to inhale his food even after being well taken care of for 7 years. Every food he gets he has always inhaled and then consequently he was suffering from vomiting/loose stools. Every senior dog food I could find had similar sized kibble, which must have been the perfect size for him to inhale, until Purina One! The Vibrant Maturity 7+ food has very small kibbles and meaty bits, therefore my dog has learned he needs to chew! I also think the chewy meaty bits make him want to slow down and savor the flavor! This food also includes a generous joint health blend, and I have been able to take him off his joint supplements with no adverse effects! Thank you Purina One for offering this affordable food that saves my stubbornly hungry senior dog from his tummy woes! March 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by My dog loved the food! Our dog is 13+ years and has the energy of a puppy. February 16, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by a dog food that makes all of us happy I have an old, old dog. She's a rescue so her age is a guess but the vet thought she was about 3 years old when she joined the family and that was 15 years ago. As you can imagine, she's slowing down and experiencing a lot of those old age creeks and kinks. We've had her on some fancy grub that is good for her but that she hates - we have to "dress it up" before she eats it but it has seemed to help so we happily go through the hassle.I got a sample of Purina ONE® SmartBlend from Smiley360 to try for our other dogs - the old gal couldn't keep her face out of their bowls. So we looked around (and around and around) and found the PURINA ONE VIBRANT MATURITY® 7+ SENIOR, finally. I do wish there were some flavor options for the seniors and I wish it was a little easier to find in shops. She gobbles it down, we can even use pieces of kibble as treats. She has only been eating it for a few weeks but I have to admit that her coat which is usually soft and shiny seems even softer and shinier! And she seems to do just as well with the creaks and aches as she did with the pricier brand that she hated but we made her eat anyway because it was "good" for her.Our dog wants to enjoy meal time. We want her to be as vital and healthy as she can be. Thanks for making a dog food that makes all of us happy. November 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for my Daisy I have 8 year old lab /beegle mix and has the typical hip issues that labs face.,also has some issues with some foods real gassy and such. She has done GREAT on this food. I could not print off coupon but tried it anyway -- December 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simply The Best! I have fed many expensive and inexpensive foods to my dogs over the years. I never noticed a visible difference in any of them...Until NOW!I have two senior black labs, 11 and 12 yrs. Old.I have seen a HUGE change in their mental alertness, activity level, and overall zeal and zest for life! They are bouncing around like pups, and have a brightness in their eyes again! They are so zestful, I threaten to take away the new food! LOL!I can't say enough about what a great difference I've seen in my two old dogs! My 12 yrs suffers from arthritis and hip problems, she didn't want to do much..Now, she is out walking with me, even running sometimes!!!I feel strongly, if you have a senior dog, Purina One Vibrant Mature is the food to buy! I highly recommend this particular product!!!!!I can't believe what a difference this dog food has made!!!Please, please keep making it Purina! November 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great food for older dogs My 10 year old lab/great dane has become a picky eater in the last couple of years. After switching to Purina One Vibrant Maturity I haven't had any problems. He just loves this food :) December 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazed at the difference I have 2 older St Bernards, 12 and 9 years. They had been slowing down and had trouble moving around which we just associated with getting older. After eating the Purina One Vibrant Maturity dog food for just a few weeks, we are amazed at the change. They act like they are 4 years old. They are alert, playful and get around so much better. We love the fact it is full of good, healthy stuff. This food is amazing. Thank you Purina! I will recommend this to all my friends. November 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our Siberian Husky loves this food Our furry family member, Annie Rose, loves this food. She is almost 12 years old and goes out and plays, at day care, with dogs that are only 1-5 years old (sometimes older) and is able to keep up with them. The newer workers, at Dogtopia, think she's only about 4 years old. Our vet also says how healthy she is and would also say she's about 5 years old, due to her great shape.Annie Rose free-feeds and it works well for her. We have tried her on different foods and she loves this one the best. October 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing results My 16 year old dachshund was declining rapidly. He had lost his eyesight, hearing, and was losing his balance. We started him on Purina One Senior food, and within two weeks I could see a change in him. He seemed to be able to hear what was going on, I didn't have to get in front of him and clap my hands to get his attention. He has more energy, is playful, and the other day I caught him running around the yard chasing the birds! This old dog isn't done yet! September 30, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Awesome food for my 9 year old Boxer I have been giving my Boxer this brand of food since he was 7.5 years old. He LOVES it. Not only are the chunks hardy but the small pellets are the right size for his stomach so he avoids overeating and getting sick. I have tried Royal Canin, Nutro, and Science Diet but Justice has not liked anything more than Purina One. Not only is it good but its affordable and accessible. September 20, 2015

    Adult Dog Feeding Instructions

The recommended feeding amounts indicated are based upon the average nutritional needs of an adult dog with a normal activity level (using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup which contains approximately 96 g of Purina ONE).  Factors, such as a dog's metabolism, breed size, activity level, age and whether the dog is spayed or neutered, will affect the amount of Purina ONE needed to maintain an ideal body condition. The pet experts at Purina have provided the feeding amounts indicated as a starting point. If you find that your dog is losing weight or becomes overweight when fed these amounts, please adjust accordingly. To help your dog maintain an ideal body condition, monitor your dog's weight on a regular basis, making sure that his ribs are easily felt and his waist is visible when viewed from above. Maintaining an ideal body condition can impact your dog’s lifelong health.

May Be Served Dry or Moistened

Purina ONE may be fed dry or mixed with water. If mixed, we suggest one part liquid to four parts Purina ONE.

Making The Switch to Purina ONE

Although you’ll be anxious to see the difference Purina ONE can make in your dog, please allow 7–10 days to ease the transition from his current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Purina ONE until you’re feeding Purina ONE exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

    No Supplements Necessary

Purina ONE provides 100% complete and balanced nutrition for maintenance of adult dogs. There is no need to add vitamins, minerals or other supplements, unless specifically directed by a veterinarian.

Fresh Water, Proper Diet & Veterinary Care

Be sure to provide fresh water in a clean container for your dog daily. Proper diet, exercise and veterinary care are the best ways to keep your dog healthy. If your dog hasn’t had a check-up in the past year, please make an appointment today.
