Rated 5 out of 5 by Our Blue Heeler Has Come Back To Life Again Our 12yr. old Blue Heeler "Maggie Mae" had lost all her energy. She had been in a accident at age 3 which crushed her pelvis and hip. After 2 surgeries , a metal plate and screws, she bounced back but at age 12 she had to have surgery for cancer. This time she just wasn't bouncing back to her old self. She just laid around with no energy. That's when I saw the commercial for the Purina challenge and decided to give it a try. I was a little skeptical that a food could offer such a change in your dog. Within 2 weeks of gradually switching her over we could see a major difference. At the end of the 28 days she is back to her normal self again. There's no looking back !She will continue this food and we would recommend it to anyone! Thank you Purina for saving our dog! Rated 5 out of 5 by Old Man's favorite Our Menchi is 12 years old. About 6 years ago he had to start taking Epilepsy medication and the vet said that it would age him and therefore probably die younger than most dogs of his breed (lab/great dane mix). Great Danes live 6-8 years and labs 11-12 years so he is doing really well on the Purina One for Mature dogs we have been feeding him since he has been taking the meds.I wouldn't feed him anything else. Rated 5 out of 5 by Golden Retriever approved! I have a 7 year old Golden Retriever and decided to try the Purina One for Senior dogs. I had her try the other flavors of Purina One via FREE Sample and coupon I received. My dog seems to really love the flavor, I see a difference in her coat and eyes. She completed the Purina one 28 day challenge I went out and purchased more since she loved the food.I would highly recommend this product, the value is worth the price! May 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Food My Min American Eskimo who is a recuse has been a Purina One Dog for the 4 yrs I have had her and she just loves her VIBRANT MATURITY 7+ and has so much energy and a great coat Thanks Purina for great food. December 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great food for a Picky Boston My picky Boston loves this food, he wasnt one to eat dry food with out water in it. However he loves this food and will finish his bowl. it has done a great deal of help on his joints. The glucoseamine in it helps his joints and so much more easier than trying to get him to take a pill.... Great Job Purina June 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Senior Dog Loves It My 7 year old Boxer loves her food. We changed over to Purena 1 Vibrant Maturity shortly after we got her. She had joint pain and now can jump around with the best of them. She also enjoys when I moisten it and soften the pieces as she has only a few teeth left. She has no problem eating it this way and always looks forward to mealtime. We will feed her Purena 1 Vibrant Maturity for whatever time she has left as she was diagnosed with a brain tumor shortly after we got her. Only the best for her. July 10, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by My dog wants food, not kitchen sponges. I am deeply disappointed in the changes that were made to this dog food. My Yorkie-Poodle mix is currently 16 years old and has been eating this food for years. A couple years ago (not sure exactly when), there was a change made to the content of the food -- there are these new pieces along with the regular triangle pieces -- I think they are supposed to be "meat" but have the consistency of a kitchen sponge when they get moisture in them. She won't touch them. We now have to pick out all of these pieces before she will touch the food -- which has become even more annoying due to the fact that it seems every single bag we open has more and more of them in it. Half the bag gets thrown away -- such a waste of money. If she were younger, we would switch her food but, due to her age, we have chosen to continue feeding her the same diet (until we are forced to switch due to vet advice, etc). Bring back the old version!!!!! August 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by my dogs prefer the flavor i have a 15 year old chug with arthritis and it's getting very hard to keep him interested in dog food. i'm so happy to have found a food that suits his age and nutritional needs & he doesn't turn up his nose at it. my 8 year old terrier also loves it and i know it will help him to continue to live to a ripe-old age. Rated 5 out of 5 by Happier dog! After the transition from pedigree to the purina 7+ my dog started acting like a younger happier dog. She's more active and playful so I couldn't be happier for her. Also she loves this food so much that I now use it as treats for good behaviors and tricks and she'll do anything for it. Thanks Purina August 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Purina One is da bomb! My dog was diagnosed w/ CHF and the vet said to put him on a senior dog food. He was already eating Little Bites since he came off Puppy Chow. Well, as with many things, I researched before I chose a food when the vet said to just move him up to Purina Senior. I should have listened because I went to the local pet supply and got talked into getting him something from there that I had never heard of. I'm sure it is a fine dog food, but my dog didn't like it. So I went ahead and got the Purina One Vibrant Maturity and started incorporating that into the other to change him over. The stinker started picking out the other food and dropping it on the floor to get to the Purina One food so he could eat it first and most times left the other on the floor. I'm sure that was his way of protesting Ha! He loves the Purina One and doesn't dally like he was w/ the other one. He doesn't scarf it down, that has never been his MO. But he seems to enjoy now. Thank you for this product. I'm sold!! June 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by picky pug Ginger eats the food without prompting. She is eleven and very active. We have had no hot spots this summer! August 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful food for my dog. My 7 year old Shih Tzu Muffy loves the food. She has lost a half a pound and she is so much fun now. She's a prissy little girl now. I would recommend this to any dog that is 7 or older. July 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tiffany approves!! My corgi mix is 9 years old and has always been active. She had decided that she no longer liked the food she had been eating for almost 8 years. I brought home Iams, Rachel Ray,, etcetera. Then I ran across Purina one smart blend. She loves this food and I am glad I found something that is good for her as well . Thank you Purina one!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Chico likes it My senior Akita really likes this food. He is very eager when meal time arrives. He is very enthusiastic when I am preparing his meal and eats it every time. July 5, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dogs No Longer Like I have been feeding Pruina One Vibrant Maturity 7+ for the last four years. My dog is now 11 and is refusing to eat many of the kibble pieces. She only eats the dark ones. The light ones and the irregularly shaped pieces she is now spitting out and refuses to eat them. This is a change that has occurred over the last few bags. I threw out two different bags and now on the third bag and will throw this one out also. I have today switched to a new brand. I start a new food as a treat giving just a few pieces throughout the day and they love the change. My dog will be very happy with the switch has been completed. May 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Keeps my Senior from inhaling his food! I got Chevy (Pitbull/Dachshund) when he was 7 years old from the local shelter. He was very underweight, and even though he is a healthy weight now, and also 14, he still feels the need to inhale his food even after being well taken care of for 7 years. Every food he gets he has always inhaled and then consequently he was suffering from vomiting/loose stools. Every senior dog food I could find had similar sized kibble, which must have been the perfect size for him to inhale, until Purina One! The Vibrant Maturity 7+ food has very small kibbles and meaty bits, therefore my dog has learned he needs to chew! I also think the chewy meaty bits make him want to slow down and savor the flavor! This food also includes a generous joint health blend, and I have been able to take him off his joint supplements with no adverse effects! Thank you Purina One for offering this affordable food that saves my stubbornly hungry senior dog from his tummy woes! March 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by New Dog My dog is 11 years old and lately I have seen his desire to eat and energy get less. After the first taste of Vibrant Maturity blend he was hooked. He begs for more after he gobbled it up. He is running after crows again. His eyes look brighter. It is a huge change in him. After this free sample with the 28 day challenge is over we will be buying it. May 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simply The Best! I have fed many expensive and inexpensive foods to my dogs over the years. I never noticed a visible difference in any of them...Until NOW!I have two senior black labs, 11 and 12 yrs. Old.I have seen a HUGE change in their mental alertness, activity level, and overall zeal and zest for life! They are bouncing around like pups, and have a brightness in their eyes again! They are so zestful, I threaten to take away the new food! LOL!I can't say enough about what a great difference I've seen in my two old dogs! My 12 yrs suffers from arthritis and hip problems, she didn't want to do much..Now, she is out walking with me, even running sometimes!!!I feel strongly, if you have a senior dog, Purina One Vibrant Mature is the food to buy! I highly recommend this particular product!!!!!I can't believe what a difference this dog food has made!!!Please, please keep making it Purina! November 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Refreshing to see him eat again! We were getting so upset night after night of seeing our 12 year old springer spaniel, Friday's dish still full. I was starting to worry about him losing appetite as a result of aging/poor health. He seemed to have lost interest in eating. I picked up a bag of this for a change and he devoured it. It's nice to see him clean his bowl like a puppy again! The added glucosamine is a bonus as it's helping his limp. Thank you Purina! November 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by my picky dog LOVES & my overweight dog Lost weight I have one very picky poo-chi that wouldn't even eat expensive food, and was a bit picky on your other's but this vibrant maturity she LOVES and can't get enough. My other poo-chi was overweight and non of the weight managment foods worked but this one she did and my other 2 toy poodles love it too. The only thing is that they are drinking ALOT more water than before and one is having accidents in house because she has to go more often. Is this a normal side effect? November 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Capering 16 yo Aussie I have always fed a standard no-color-added kibble to my dogs, who kept good weight and lived long. Skye (born Oct. 1998, adopted Aug 2000) was settling into his senior years in good health, no apparent arthritis or cancer, when this spring a friend gave me a bag of PurinaONE Vibrant Maturity. I tossed it into the bin, noticed the amount of chicken shreds, and gave it gradually. A week went by when I noticed HE WAS PLAYING TUG! He was jumping over a slower playmate, he was cantering around my back yard. I will continue to feed it to him until he dies, if ever. October 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great changes! We have an English Setter/Brittany cross, Lucy, who is 9 1/2 yrs. old. She was put on this planet to be a love & forever stalk squirrels, which she NEVER outsmarts!Last summer we switched her from Purina One Senior because we thought she was becoming allergic to the food. She began itching & everyone told me to go GRAIN-FREE!!So....we switched her to a HIGH END grain free froduct. She's gained more weight than usual this winter, has clean teeth, but horrible breath and VERY large stool volume!!! What's up with that!!Lucy's gradually going back to Purina One Senior Vibrant Maturity & looks great! More energy, the breath is changing along with the stool volumeTHANK YOU! March 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sr. Maturity is great for joint pain! I have two rescue dogs. One is an American Foxhound mix (12 years old) and the other a German Short Haired Pointer (8 years old). When we rescued the Pointer, she was only 1 year old, but was limping horribly. Our Foxhound was 5 years old and eating Purina One Lamb and Rice and loving it; but, I switched both dogs to Sr. Maturity, hoping it might help my Pointer. It did! Within a few weeks, her limping stopped. Sr. Maturity is great! Both dogs eat the senior food and are in fabulous health - even the 12 year old! No one believes she is 12! Buy this product. Rated 5 out of 5 by Answer to our Prayers Our 14 year old Jack Russel Tarrier (Napoleon) has had a rough go as of late. His thyroid has begun to act up and he went from a healthy 16 pounds to 26 pounds. Well we started looking for a replacement for his other name brand food and came across Purena's Vibrant Mateurity formula. We are proud to say that our Napoleon is gonna be around with us for a few more years. Not only does he love the flavor, he has lost 8 pounds and is acting like his old self again. Also he poops alot less cause there are less fillers and his body uses it all up for nutrition...Switched our other pets to Purena One and great results as well (: February 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Vet had us change to this Because of medical issue's our vet had us change to this. Both my dogs seem to love it and they are not unually fond of dry food. Both seem to really like this tho. The only thing that can make this better is if they put a zip closure on the bag like a lot of other ones have.... September 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My 12 year old Standard Poodle and my 7 year old Boston Terrier thrive on Purina One Maturity formula I have been feeding my dogs Purina One formulas appropriate for the life stage. Now that my dogs are Seniors I feed the Maturity formula. Recently a friend suggested that I try another much higher cost brand. I did by mixing it with the Purina One. Our Poodle got such stomach distress that we had to switch back to his usual food of Purina One Maturity. within a day he was back to normal. My veterinarian examines their teeth at every visit. There has been no tartar or gum problems. I attribute that to the Purina One formula that they have been eating. July 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Food my senior dogs enjoy I have a 16 year old Pekingese named, Bubba. I have fed him Purina dog foods since he was 6 weeks old. He loves his food so much he tries to eat his and my 12 year old Shihtzu's, Dixie. I have had Dixie since she was 4 years old. All I have ever fed them is Purina. They eat Purina One for seniors. I would say that their longevity says alot about Purina's quality food. I had 14 pet rabbits, with the oldest one living to be 10 years old. I fed them Purina Rabbit food. I would not use any other brand. December 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by No more meds My Border Collie has arthritis in his hips and has been on Rimadyl to help him out. He is 11 1/2 years old.My spaniel mix is 10 and she is a picky eater. They were eating Purina dog chow. So I switched to Purina One Active Maturity. My Border Collie is off his Rimadyl and is playing like a puppy. I no longer have to mix wet food with the dry to get my spaniel mix to eat. She inhales it.Thank you Purina for this food. Our pups are happy. November 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by My dogs like this most of the time My dogs have ALWAYS been on Purina One, and now are on the Vibrant Maturity Senior food. Most of the time they will gobble it up, but there are times where I mix it with warm water to make a gravy or mix a can of the Purina One wet food in with it to entice them even more! It would be nice if they'd stop making the bags smaller and smaller and charging more though. November 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works for our bordie collie We have tried various highly rated, costly dry foods for our eight year old bordie collie. He couldn't tolerated them, developing digestive issues and skin irritations. We put him on Purina One Lamb and Rice last year, then switched to Vibrant Maturity +7 last month. He has had no issues with it.I'd like to see it made with lamb. March 18, 2014

    Adult Dog Feeding Instructions

The recommended feeding amounts indicated are based upon the average nutritional needs of an adult dog with a normal activity level (using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup which contains approximately 96 g of Purina ONE).  Factors, such as a dog's metabolism, breed size, activity level, age and whether the dog is spayed or neutered, will affect the amount of Purina ONE needed to maintain an ideal body condition. The pet experts at Purina have provided the feeding amounts indicated as a starting point. If you find that your dog is losing weight or becomes overweight when fed these amounts, please adjust accordingly. To help your dog maintain an ideal body condition, monitor your dog's weight on a regular basis, making sure that his ribs are easily felt and his waist is visible when viewed from above. Maintaining an ideal body condition can impact your dog’s lifelong health.

May Be Served Dry or Moistened

Purina ONE may be fed dry or mixed with water. If mixed, we suggest one part liquid to four parts Purina ONE.

Making The Switch to Purina ONE

Although you’ll be anxious to see the difference Purina ONE can make in your dog, please allow 7–10 days to ease the transition from his current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Purina ONE until you’re feeding Purina ONE exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

    No Supplements Necessary

Purina ONE provides 100% complete and balanced nutrition for maintenance of adult dogs. There is no need to add vitamins, minerals or other supplements, unless specifically directed by a veterinarian.

Fresh Water, Proper Diet & Veterinary Care

Be sure to provide fresh water in a clean container for your dog daily. Proper diet, exercise and veterinary care are the best ways to keep your dog healthy. If your dog hasn’t had a check-up in the past year, please make an appointment today.
